September 2020 Update
Hi folks, I hope you’ve been keeping well. As we are about to enter the next academic year I wanted to give you a quick update on what I’m up to and what’s happening with lessons going forward.
For the last month I have made the decision to start 1-2-1 lessons at my house again. In order to make this safe I have my teaching space set up so that we can maintain one metre plus distancing. Face masks are mandatory – no exceptions. I am also wiping down surfaces before and after lessons and leaving at least an hour between students to cycle the air. I can’t offer you a drink or a toilet break so make sure you are prepared for your lesson before you come.
I am continuing online lessons with Skype and Zoom. Now that I’ve begun doing this I will continue to offer them indefinitely for anyone who would prefer this. It also means if you’re further away or unable to travel you can still have lessons with me.
I have been in talks with a couple of my adult learning providers and there is some news to report on this. Currently I have two online workshops scheduled with Hampshire libraries. These will be 3x1 hour sessions across 3 weeks. They will focus on strumming patterns for improvers and will be available for guitar and ukulele. The first one – for Ukulele -is at the end of September. Here’s the links if you’re interested in booking:
I have been talking to St Vincent College about face to face guitar groups resuming and this is looking promising, I’m just awaiting confirmation, so I’ll report back as soon as I know for sure if it’s going ahead.
Finally, since the lockdown I have been regularly uploading videos of me playing the guitar on Facebook and more recently Youtube. If you’d like to see me play then have a look for me over there. If you like what you see and want to learn my arrangements, get discounts on lessons or just want to help support me then you can also find me on Patreon.
Many thanks and stay safe 😊
